In a tranquil village cradled by rolling hills and a silver river, two mothers—Lauren and Hannah—waited with hope filled hearts for the arrival of their triplet daughters. Friends and family gathered in the quiet anticipation of new life. Lauren and Hannah had poured their love into tiny blankets, delicate booties, and dresses of lavender, pink, and peach—each stitch a thread in the tapestry of their hope. Yet, beneath this vibrant fabric, there was an as yet unspoken stillness, like a silent ripple on the surface of a tranquil pond— life’s deepest mysteries often lie beneath the surface, unseen and unfathomable.
As the days unfolded, both women sensed a profound truth, as mother's sometimes do—that life and death are not opposite poles but two streams flowing within the same river of existence. Within Lauren’s womb, amid the tiny, fluttering hearts, there was a whisper of something beyond understanding—Winnie, the smallest of their daughters, was already preparing for her journey beyond the physical realm. Her calm spirit was reaching for the infinite, like a delicate yellow butterfly fluttering on the breeze towards the endless sky—silent, graceful, and free.
On the morning of her birth, the sun rose gently, casting a soft glow that seemed to hold both the warmth of life and the cool embrace of eternity. As Lauren stood beside Hannah, feeling the familiar flutterings of their daughters— a strength asserted itself within them—an unspoken understanding—that Winnie’s absence was a presence in itself— sometimes, what we cannot see is more real than what we can.
The labour room, bathed in a halo of soft, golden light, was a sanctuary—When Hettie’s cries broke the silence, they were like the first bird’s song at dawn—heralding new beginnings. Nellie’s tiny fingers curled around Hannah’s, like a delicate vine seeking support in the vast garden of life. And then the room fell into hushed reverence, as tiny Winnie, was silent, her spirit already dancing freely.
